Western Canada

A journey through Western Canada. Twelve nights, thirteen days — from Vancouver, with private flights to the vineyards of the Okanagan and the alpine meadows of Whistler, to the wild Pacific shores of Tofino, where whales move through the kelp and black bears forage the beaches, and on to the turquoise lakes and glacial peaks of the Canadian Rockies, ending in Calgary.

All travel by private plane, seaplane, and chauffeured luxury SUV. Five-star accommodations throughout.

Experiences selected at booking and tailored to your interests.

Night 1-2

Vancouver

At YVR, your driver awaits. A short transfer to Coal Harbour and the Fairmont Pacific Rim — Forbes Five-Star, facing the water, with the North Shore mountains rising beyond the harbour. Settle in. The seaplanes lift off just outside the window.

Four nights in Vancouver, with two signature day trips by private aircraft. A morning flight south to the Okanagan — Canada's quiet wine country, where the vineyards rise from desert lakes and Nk'Mip Cellars, the first Indigenous-owned winery in North America, pours the afternoon tasting. A separate day by helicopter to Whistler, over Howe Sound and the Coast Mountains, with a landing on an alpine meadow or glacier before lunch and the return flight. In between, Vancouver itself — Stanley Park at dawn, Granville Island, the Museum of Anthropology, the Pacific Rim dining that gives the hotel its name.

Night 3-4

Tofino

A morning seaplane from Vancouver harbour. In under an hour, you descend into Clayoquot Sound — UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, ancient Sitka spruce, the open Pacific. Four nights at the Wickaninnish Inn, Relais & Châteaux since 1997, perched on Chesterman Beach where the rainforest meets the sea.

Days on the water, among grey and humpback whales, black bears foraging the shoreline, sea lions in the kelp. Hikes through thousand-year-old cedar in Pacific Rim National Park. Indigenous-led cultural experiences at Kwistis and on Meares Island. Storm-watching in the winter months, surfing in the summer. Evenings at The Pointe Restaurant, the Pacific just beyond the glass.

Night 5-7

Lake Louise

A flight east across the Coast Mountains and the Interior Ranges. By afternoon, the turquoise water of Lake Louise, framed by the Victoria Glacier and the peaks that have defined the Canadian imagination for a century and a half. Two nights at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise — the only hotel on the lake — in a lakeview suite.

A private canoe at dawn before the day arrives. A sunrise drive to Moraine Lake, a shorter and, to many, more extraordinary sister-lake twenty minutes away. A helicopter over the icefields and the peaks of the Continental Divide. Afternoon tea in the Lakeview Lounge. Light that moves across the glacier through the afternoon.

Night 8–10

Banff

A brief drive south through the Bow Valley. Two final nights at the Fairmont Banff Springs — a Scottish baronial castle in the heart of Banff National Park, in the Canadian Rockies since 1888. The hotel sits above the Bow River, with Mount Rundle in the distance and the town of Banff just below.

Days are your own. A ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain on the gondola. The Banff Upper Hot Springs, still running. A morning at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. The Cave and Basin, where the park began. Afternoons at the Willow Stream Spa. Dinner in the hotel's candlelit dining rooms, the castle quiet around you.

In the morning, a short transfer to Calgary International Airport. The journey home.

The journey is set. The experiences are yours to choose.
